So this is an older piece called "The Hunted" that I finished last spring. There's a whole mythology write up that goes with it, but the piece stands alone.
I've spent the last week trying to put together a piece for a production run, and I'm having a terrible time of it. Lately I've been working on digital pieces that can be printed in either resin or wax. After I got the files the way that I wanted them, I sent them off last Friday for a price quote. When I got it back today, I realized that there was absolutely no way I could afford to do a production run if I have the pieces printed in wax. I guess the reason I was so shocked at the price quote was because I've been having my digital pieces printed in resin through the school, and we're billed at the cost for the resin. Logically, I knew that having them done by a company meant that I'd be charged more, since companies have to pay salaries and electric bills and all that jazz. I just didn't realize that I'd be paying 100 times more. (Literally.) So now I need to look into having molds made of my resin pieces, since the quote I got from the say company was $20 for a mold to be made.
But I've got another piece in the works, which doesn't need any pieces outsourced, and it's turning out pretty nicely so far, so hopefully I'll be posting that next Monday. Until then!
