Finals and other Insanity.

So, I haven't really talked about my academic experience here, but it's still going on. In fact, right now it's taking over my life, because finals are coming up. On top of my liberal arts exams, I have to finish a number of pieces for my studio classes, which is part of the reason why I'm updating late yet again and once again have no pictures. I'm going to (tentatively) try to put up a photo post later this week, probably on Friday, since after Friday, I'll have two less finals to deal with.

Meanwhile, let me tell you what I've been working on. You'll just have to use your imagination to picture what they look like.

~The largest piece I'm working on at the moment is a vessel form. It's about six inches high and four inches wide, give or take. I've just finished turning it into a vessel form from a flat sheet of copper, and am hoping to planish it tonight to even out the surface. Before the 18th, I'll have chased and then enameled it.

~The second project I have on my plate is a set of three frog brooches. They began with a rather industrial process: die forming. I've finished die forming them, and am now working on defining their bodies with chasing. They're also going to be enameled and then set, and this will be done before the 17th.

~I'm also working on setting the lizard that I posted pictures of not too long ago. He will be a brooch, which I need to fabricate, and will possibly, if time permits, also have a skeletal component.

This is in addition to my non-major classes, in which I have three exams and a self portrait due. Clearly, my plate is far fuller than I had intended, but I've always said that I thrive under pressure. We'll see how true that is over the course of the next two weeks.
