Finished my classes list for January, so I'm in the process of getting that out there. Currently I'm offering:
Thursday, January 7th, 6-9pm - Simple Pierced Jewelry
Learn or improve basic sawing skills and create either a pendant or bracelet in an evening. Design your own or use one of the patterns provided. $25 (plus cost of materials*)
Saturday, January 9th, 12-6pm - Enameling Workshop
Want to learn the secrets of enameling? In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of enameling on copper. Techniques taught will include sifting, stenciling and wet packing. Feel free to pack a lunch and a beverage of some sort, as we will take a break halfway through. $70 (all materials provided)
Sunday, January 10th, 6-9pm - Silver Band Rings
A basic introductory class, in which you will make a stamped or textured silver band ring. Techniques taught will be sawing, filing, texturing, and soldering. $35 (All materials provided)
Saturday, January 23rd, 12-6pm - Cloisonne Enameling Workshop
A more advanced enameling class. Experience required (either from elsewhere or by taking the January 9th class). Learn to incorporate silver or copper cloisonne into your enamels. Design your own or use one of the basic designs provided. Feel free to pack a lunch and a beverage of some sort, as we will take a break halfway through. $75 (all materials provided)
Tuesday, January 26th, 6-9pm - Chains
Learn to make simple linked chains, as well as a more advanced chain (Byzantine or Idiot's Delight, your choice.) If we have time, we will also cover basic clasps, such as toggles or S-hooks. If you have your own pliers, please bring them. $30 (plus cost of materials*)
Because my studio space is only so large, and I only have so many sets of tools, I'm capping the number of students for each class at 4. All classes will be offered at the Onancock School. (If you're interested, feel free to email me to reserve a space or for more information.)
In other news, I've been doing a search for new exhibitions to submit work to, so hopefully that will come together nicely and I'll get more stuff lined up for next year.
