Twenty Ten!

Hello everyone and welcome to twenty ten. Before I go on about what I've been up to and what I've been working on, let me just say that we are living in the future. So, happy new year! (A week or so late, but I've been out of town.)

I'm feeling fully recharged and definitely ready to make some work. Not only am I reasonably well rested, but I've got a brand new toy: a lovely drill press. And let me tell you, I have missed having a drill press so much. Of all the things I had in the school studio, I actually missed the drill press the most. And now I have one, and I'm super excited about it. Mind, it took about an hour to assemble all the pieces and align the wheels and so on, but it's so amazing and I love it.

I taught a class tonight and we used the drill press, and the work that came out of it was pretty impressive. Of course, I forgot to take a photo of the finished piece, which is a shame, and I'll have to make a note so I don't forget next time.

Additionally, I've responded to another call for entries, with acceptance letters going out at the beginning of February, and tomorrow I mail out a piece to Texas to be in a show.

Tonight I also set up a digital photo frame to scroll through pictures of my renderings, which is pretty neat. I'll have it at the studio tomorrow night for Second Friday. I'm considering adding photos of some actual pieces that have sold, but I haven't decided yet and probably won't worry about it before tomorrow night anyway.

All in all, I feel I've made a pretty good start to the year, especially now that I'm back in town, so hopefully I can keep it up. It feels good to get things done. (Actually, that's my new year's resolution: Get things done. Simple, but important.)
