Kingfishers and Tea Infusers

I've been working on a handful of projects at the moment, rather willy nilly and all at the same time. So, here, in more order than they are anywhere else, are my current projects:

The Silver Tea Infuser - I've posted photos of this before, here. I've made significant progress since then, and I've finally found a really excellent reason to finish it. There's an exhibition called Mad Hatter's Tea Party that I think would be an excellent thing to submit it to, if I can get it finished in time. I'm a big fan of deadlines, to tell the truth, and calls for entry serve that purpose now that I've graduated.

The Kingfisher - This is the first non-jewelry piece I've worked on for a while. It's actually going to be a small sculpture of sorts, a plaque, I guess, that is hung on the wall. All copper. I've been considering ways to incorporate color, but I haven't decided on anything yet. I'll put up a photo when I get a little farther along and/or remember to take one. I've been trying to address larger, non jewelry work on and off for a while now, and this is the next adventure in that. We'll see how it ends up turning out.

Wedding Gift - I have a very dear friend who is getting married, and I'm making her wedding jewelry. It has a ways to go before I'm happy with it, but it'll be absolutely fabulous when I'm done.

I've also been working on getting everything in sync on the internet as well, which means I've been posting newer work to DeviantArt (which I've neglected for quite some while) and uploading some older work to Etsy as well, and making sure all the work on DeviantArt directs to Etsy if it's for sale.

Progress Report

Haven't got any new finished projects to post about, so I figured I'd post an update about a couple of pieces I'm currently working on. One of the things I've been thinking about lately is the jewelry format, and how training in jewelry before learning how to enamel kind of made my enamels into jewelry by default. So I've been trying to break away from making only enameled jewelry, and the first piece of that kind that I envisioned is a wall piece.

I've only begun working on the central panel so far. I'm working through an attempt to create a matte finish on the black background, and encountering obstacles. Since I'll have the same problems with the other panels, I've decided to try to solve them on this panel before I start the others. This is an in process shot of the central panel; when it's finished, the black will hopefully be matte, and there will be more green leaves.

I'm rather fond of my test sample for the black matte enamels (although it didn't manage to forestall all of the problems I later encountered.) I'll probably set this one in a simple setting and do another variation of the enamel as a neckpiece.
