Lovely News!

Hope everyone had an excellent Valentine's day, whether you celebrated it by yourself or with a special someone.  (And if it was lousy, remember, all that candy goes on sale today!)

I got some excellent news Thursday night, and I just haven't been able to collect enough time to type it up until now!  (If you follow me on twitter, I mentioned this, and then fell off the face of the earth before revealing what it was.)

Well, here it is!  My Yellow Poison Dart Frog has been juried into LaGrange National XXVI Biennial 2010!  The acceptance letter was postmarked the first of February, and I didn't get it until the twelfth, which says some things about all the horrible weather we've been having, and the efficiency of my local postal carrier, who is apparently not fond of snow.  Anyway, I shipped off my piece in haste, as the exhibition opens on February 26th with a reception at the LaGrange Art Museum in LaGrange, Georgia.  There are actually two different venues for the show, and my piece will be on display at the Lamar Dodd Art Center from February 26th until April 19th.

In addition to getting into the above exhibition, which I'm thrilled about, I finished, in the wee hours of Saturday morning, the piece that I've been most anxious to finish:  wedding jewelry for a friend of mine.  The few photos I snapped before I mailed it off don't really do it justice, so I'll wait until she get some professional photos done before I post images.
