Beads (continued from the last post!)

I've finished my beads and submitted them to the Bead Dreams competition I mentioned.  Pretty proud of them!  Without further ado, I present my beads:

Technically I only had to make a set of four, but I went with mirroring the sizes, and I really do believe that things look better in odd numbers.  I am some how not tired of barnacles yet, which is an excellent thing, because I've got a handful of other projects in the works that include them.  And I'm still working on that necklace!  I hit a hiccup, so most of the barnacles I made for it will actually go onto a bracelet.  The necklace decided it needed larger barnacles, and I'm a slave to the demands of my pieces.  Thus, I am making larger barnacles for it.

I'm also running some experiments on my felt, checking out finishing types.  Or rather, I'm about to run them.  I've got a series of little felt balls made for the purpose.  If they turn out absolutely spectacular, I'll save them and put them into a piece, maybe!  I'm going to look into dying them, and painting them, and adding some beads.  (Beads!  I am working on confronting them, one bit at a time.  They'll make a nice representation of sand, I think.)

I've also got a few pieces that will be going to the Art Unleashed Exhibition at my alma mater, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  Pretty excited, since half of the proceeds will go to providing scholarships.  If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in.  Follow the link above for details!
